When hydrogen integration is commercially viable

Wind farm turbines in open landscape

Hydrogen is rarely the lowest cost decarbonisation pathway today. It is sometimes the right pathway. The decision turns on load profile, grid context, supply pathway and the time horizon over which the asset must operate. Where high temperature process loads dominate and electrification is constrained, hydrogen integration becomes part of the architecture. Where lower temperature loads dominate, electrification with storage is usually stronger.
